The Fairfield Police Department's Citizen Police Academy is an interactive program designed to inform participants about the wide-range of services provided by the department and provides an inside look at law enforcement operations and personnel.
The Citizen Police Academy is a 10-week program designed to get a glimpse at life within the police department. It provides deep insight into the relationship between law enforcement and the community it serves. Classes include presentations by all divisions of the police department. This course is designed to give the citizen student a chance to see life through the eyes of police personnel.
The course of study will cover many aspects of police operations, including: Patrol Procedures, Crime Prevention, Criminal Investigations, Gangs, Narcotics, States Attorney Office, Processing Crime Scenes, Stolen Cars and other assorted topics.
The program will also include an opportunity to ride along with a Fairfield Police Officer and to participate in firearms training.

The Fairfield Police Department invites members of the community to participate in the 2015 Citizen Police Academy.
Schedule: Classes will be held Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. starting on Jan. 21, 2015 at the Fairfield Police Department, 100 Reef Road.
Residence: Participants must be residents of the Town of Fairfield.
Age Requirements: Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the program.
Application: Interested persons must complete an application to participate in the program. Seating is limited to 30 students. Applications must be received by the Fairfield Police Department by Jan. 7, 2015.
