Fairfield Officers make arrests for armed Robberies
at Adams Bakery and pending for aTanning Salon

On Saturday 5/5/12, our detective bureau spent the day continuing to investigate the two recent armed robberies in town. Their hard work paid off and they were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Christopher French (12-27-75), for Robbery 1 and Larceny 5. Due to their further outstanding efforts, they were then able to serve this warrant and take French into police custody without incident in Trumbull. Once in custody, French confessed to our robberies, and was also interviewed by detectives from Bridgeport and Stratford. French was held on a $500,000 bond.
Tow Zones for Saturday 4/28/12
Temporary Tow Away Zones will be in effect in the Beach area on the following streets on Saturday, April 28th 2012 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- Fairfield Beach Rd from Penfield Rd west to College Pl
- Reef Rd from Quincy St south to Reef Rd
- Rowland Rd from Quincy St south to Fairfield Beach Rd
- Penfield Rd from Quincy St south to Fairfield Beach Rd
DUI Check Points
DUI check points will be in effect in the area of Fairfield Beach Rd on Saturday, April 28th 2012 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in an effort to deter alcohol related accidents.
Drug Arrest - Craig Blough

Arrested: Craig Blough, 18 of Fairfield, CT for Possession of Marijuana less than 4 ounces Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana Within 1500 feet of a School. Items were seized with the assistance of the FPD K-9 Team. Blough was issued a court date of 04/03/12 in Bridgeport and posted a $5000 bond.

Robbery / Carjacking
Friday 1/27/12, at 9:18 pm
Rickie Smith 58 of Derby, CT was arrested after carjacking a 72 year old female victim. The inicident occurred in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Kings Hwy Cut Off.

Dawer Gilani of Bridegeport, CT was arrested and has a history of stalking. In the past year he made several attempts to contact a victim in Fairfield and other surrounding towns. Gilani followed the victim numerous times to her home, place of employment and gym. He left notes on the victims car, made recent and annonymous attempts to contact her by Facebook and Twitter accounts. Gilani is unknown to the victim.

Police make arrest at unregulated “Hookah Lounge”

The Fairfield Police respond to a burglary in progress at the Casablanca Hookah Lounge, 86 Post Road Fairfield, CT. Patrol Officers and K-9 Unit arrive to find the front glass door of the business smashed.
K-9 Officer Wells made several announcements for anyone inside the building to exit. They located an intoxicated subject, later identified as the owner of the business who had forced entry. The business was closed by Police and Fire officials several days prior due to safety and health hazards. A total of 34 reports have been investigated at this Hookah Lounge, ranging from assaults to underage consumption of alcoholic beverages and narcotic violations.

Arrested: Jaled Mayki Gorra (DOB 7/11/70) of 125 Grasmere Avenue Fairfield, CT
Charged with Disorderly Conduct and detained pending further investigation by I.C.E.
Fairfield Police investigate a vehicle on the Metro North Railroad tracks
Sunday 1-1-12 at 2:16 am
The vehicle, originally parked on Carter Henry Drive, had apparently been backed onto the tracks and was left parked on the southern most track. Police located two occupants and removed them safely from the scene.
