K-9 Ruger
Ruger is a 20 month old, German Shepherd dog, dark sable in color. He comes from a long line of working dogs and was selected due to his temperment, high drive and determination to please. He was trained from an early age in obedience and tracking and is certified in Schutzhund level I. He was shipped to the U.S. in June of 2011 where he was united with his handler Officer Wells. Ruger lived and bonded with Officer Wells for several months before formal training to ensure a successful outcome.
Ruger is a Certified Narcotics and Patrol canine.
Ruger will enhance the uniformed and undercover officers ability to track suspects, missing persons and detect narcotics.
