Captain Zabin joined the Fairfield Police Department in 1986 and served his first six years in the patrol division. In 1992 he was promoted to Detective and served as an investigator, investigating burglaries, financial crimes and crimes against children. In 2001 he was promoted to Sergeant and served in both the Patrol Division and Special Service Division where he supervised the departments DUI enforcement program and initiated several traffic enforcement initiatives in the agency.
In 2008 he was promoted to Lieutenant and was selected as Commander of the Office of Professional Standards, tasked with Internal Affairs, Policy writing and Grant writing.
He currently serves as the Division Commander of the Patrol Division in charge of Records Management and the Training Division for the Department.
Captain Zabin has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Southern Connecticut State University.
