Sobriety Checkpoints on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the Fairfield Beach Area.

The Fairfield Police Department will be conducting two separate Sobriety Checkpoints in the Fairfield Beach area on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "each year more than 10,000 people die on the road due to drunk driving."  In an efforct to stop this deadly epidemic, police everywhere are on the lookout for drunk drivers. 

Temporary Tow Zones - Beach Area - Saturday April 26, 2014

Temporary Tow Away Zones in the Beach area will be in effect on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 10 AM until 6 PM.

The following streets will be effected:

  • Fairfield Beach Road from Penfield Road to College Place 
  • Reef Road from Quincy Street south to Fairfield Beach Road
  • Lalley Blvd from Quincy Street south to Fairfield Beach Road
  • Rowland Road from Quincy Street south to Fairfield Beach Road
  • Penfield Road from Quincy Street south to Fairfield Beach Road

School Safety Memo - Suspicous Person

On 4/20/2014 at approximately 3:30 PM, we received a report of a suspicious person in the area of Sky Top Drive and the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course.

A young neighborhood boy reports that on 4/19 (3:30 PM) and 4/20 (3:30 PM) he observed a male watching him from the wooded area that runs between his backyard and the golf course. The boy stated that on both occasions the male quickly fled into the woods after being noticed.


Motor Vehicle Accident - Stratfield Road

On Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 5:58 PM, the Fairfield Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle accident involving an elderly male operator who was pinned between the door of his vehicle and the wall of a detached garage at his Stratfield Road residence.

Untimely Death / Hazardous Material Incident - Clinton Street

Clinton Street resident found deceased in home along with a small quantity of Potassium Cyanide.  Two Fairfield Police Officers and two Fairfield Firefighters were transported to an area hospital.
