Road Closures & Delays - 5K & Half Marathon - June 21st & 22nd

The Stratton Faxon Fairfield 5K & Half Marathon will take place this weekend.  As a result, traffic will be impacted in the downtown and beach areas.

The 5K race will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2014 and will impact the Fairfield Beach, Reef and Rowland Road Areas between 0800 and 0900.

The Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2014.  The road closures and expected delays are listed below.

These events are hosted by the Fairfield Firefighters and benefit many local and regional charities.  Last year over $400,000. was raised.


Distraction Burglary - Suzanne Circle - 6/10/14

On 6/10/2014 at approximately 10:30 AM a subject posing as a contractor convinced an elderly couple to accompany him to their backyard under the guise of checking some of their neighbors trees that he needed to cut down as part of a project.  While in the backyard, a second subject entered the home and stole jewelry. Only suspect info: Hispanic male, 5’8”, early 40’s, short dark hair, round face.


Bank Robbery (Armed) - TD Bank, Post Road - 6/8/14

On Sunday, June 8, 2014 at approximately 2:59 PM, the Fairfield Police Department responded to TD Bank, 1643 Post Road, Fairfield, CT for a reported armed bank robbery.

2014 “Click it or Ticket” Campaign Statistics

Throughout the past two weeks, the Fairfield Police Department has participated in the statewide “Click it or Ticket” campaign. During the campaign, the department deployed extra patrols and set up check points tasked primarily with conducting seatbelt enforcement.

The results of the two weeks of enforcement department-wide are listed below.


Memorial Day Parade - May 26, 2014


The Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:00 AM at the corner of Post Road and South Pine Creek Road.

Road closures begin at 9:00 AM with no parking along the parade route throughout the day. 


Click It or Ticket 2014

With the 2014 Memorial Day weekend fast approaching, the Fairfield Police Department and Connecticut’s other law enforcement agencies intend to promote safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists. Law enforcement officials are out on the road enforcing the State occupant protection laws and issuing citations to those who are unbuckled.

The “Click it or Ticket” campaign will be a two week period of high visibility seatbelt enforcement, both day and night, beginning May 19th through June 1st, 2014.


Bike to Work Day - May 16, 2014


May 16, 2014 is Bike to Work Day.  The Fairfield Police Department reminds all motorists to use caution while driving and to share the road with bicyclists.  Bicyclists are also reminded to obey all motor vehicle traffic laws when biking on a roadway.

Counterfeit Bill Suspect - CVS, 1968 Black Rock Turnpike

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating the use of counterfeit $100 bills to purchase Green Dot Cards at CVS, 1968 Black Rock Tpke, Fairfield, CT on April 30, 2014.  The suspect is pictured below.
