2014 “Click it or Ticket” Campaign Statistics

Throughout the past two weeks, the Fairfield Police Department has participated in the statewide “Click it or Ticket” campaign. During the campaign, the department deployed extra patrols and set up check points tasked primarily with conducting seatbelt enforcement.

The results of the two weeks of enforcement department-wide are listed below.


Memorial Day Parade - May 26, 2014


The Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:00 AM at the corner of Post Road and South Pine Creek Road.

Road closures begin at 9:00 AM with no parking along the parade route throughout the day. 


Click It or Ticket 2014

With the 2014 Memorial Day weekend fast approaching, the Fairfield Police Department and Connecticut’s other law enforcement agencies intend to promote safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists. Law enforcement officials are out on the road enforcing the State occupant protection laws and issuing citations to those who are unbuckled.

The “Click it or Ticket” campaign will be a two week period of high visibility seatbelt enforcement, both day and night, beginning May 19th through June 1st, 2014.


Narcotics Arrest - May 16, 2014

On 5/16/2014, the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau and Fairfield Police K-9 Unit, with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Team, executed two narcotics search warrants (Dover St and Patricia Circle, Bridgeport) and a motor vehicle stop (Main Street, Bridgeport). These warrants were the culmination of an investigation into narcotics trafficking in the Bridgeport area, to include Fairfield. Seized during the searches was a significant amount of heroin, along with cocaine and crack.


Bike to Work Day - May 16, 2014


May 16, 2014 is Bike to Work Day.  The Fairfield Police Department reminds all motorists to use caution while driving and to share the road with bicyclists.  Bicyclists are also reminded to obey all motor vehicle traffic laws when biking on a roadway.


Fairfield Police and Mental Health Awareness

FAIRFIELD POLICE FEATURED IN NEWS ARTICLE ON POLICE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING: The Fairfield Police Department and its Crisis Intervention Training program was recently featured in an article which was published as part of a reporting partnership that includes NPR, WNPR and Kaiser Health News.


Counterfeit Bill Suspect - CVS, 1968 Black Rock Turnpike

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating the use of counterfeit $100 bills to purchase Green Dot Cards at CVS, 1968 Black Rock Tpke, Fairfield, CT on April 30, 2014.  The suspect is pictured below.


Suspicious Note at Fairfield Warde HS

On 5/8/2014 a note was found scribbled on a desk at Fairfield Warde HS. The note simply said "Going to bomb school" on 5/9/2014. There are no indications that the message is credible, especially in light of several recent and similar bomb hoaxes in the area. The Fairfield Police Department is investigating this message and are taking steps to ensure that the school is safe. Fairfield Warde High and all other schools will be open tomorrow May 9.

Sobriety Checkpoints - Sat., April 26, 2014 - Fairfield Beach Area

Sobriety Checkpoints on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the Fairfield Beach Area.

The Fairfield Police Department will be conducting two separate Sobriety Checkpoints in the Fairfield Beach area on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "each year more than 10,000 people die on the road due to drunk driving."  In an efforct to stop this deadly epidemic, police everywhere are on the lookout for drunk drivers.
