At approximately 6:00 AM on February 16, 2016, Fairfield Police received a report of a violent domestic assault on Mountain Laurel Road in Fairfield, CT.
Officers responded and were confronted by a male subject who was shot by police during the encounter. He later died of his injuries.
During the initial investigation, officers discovered the male subject's wife and children, ages 12, 13 and 15, had been injured.
The three injured children were transported to area hospitals with a variety of blunt trauma injuries and stab wounds. The male subject's wife was also transported to an area hospital as a result of her injuries.
There is no threat to the public and the scene is secure at this time.
This incident is currently under investigation, and per protocol, is being investigated by the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Stamford States Attorney's Office.
